Groceries
There are several Supermarkets in town, with more being opened all the time.  Here are a list of the ones we recommend in order of proximity:

  • Four Square supermarket, located on the corner of Stanley &, Shotover Street, a short stroll down the hill is the closest to the apartment. Good for a quick stop for a couple of items but not our top recommendation for a full grocery shop
  • Fresh Choice, located at the end of Hallenstein Street (head out the front door and turn left, , the supermarket is approximately 1km away. (located in Queenstown)
  • Best Specialty Supermarket – Raeward Fresh Queenstown (located in Queenstown) is just around the corner from Fresh Choice. Great all rounder close to home. There is also an in-house cafe serving up some good food and coffee.
  • New World (located at Frankton, near the airport). good all round supermarket & now offering online shopping with either ‘click & collect’ with a $5 service charge or delivery from $15
  • Countdown (located at Five Mile) supermarket which has online shopping & delivery
  • debatably the cheapest supermarket – PAC’nSAVE – now offering ‘click & collect’ with a $5 service charge (located at Five Mile)

Bakery, Provisions & other treats

  • Best Bakery for freshly baked artisan bread – Fergbaker (located next to Ferg Burger). They also do great pies.
  • Best Butcher where you can buy locally grown meat – Neat Meats near the New World Supermarket
  • Best Pies – Arrowtown Bakery. Buy yourself a tasty New Zealand Pie and enjoy your treat outdoors on the Arrowtown Green while soaking in the sunshine.

Markets

If you are the type who enjoys the atmosphere of strolling through a local market, we have:

  • The  Creative arts & crafts market on Saturdays 9am – 2pm,located on the waterfront in central Queenstown. Great for locally made souvenirs.
  • The Remarkable Markets on Saturdays in the summer, located in Frankton. Great for picking up local produce and souvenirs.
  • The Arrowtown Farmers Markets on Sundays in the summer. 10am – 2pm and located in Arrowtown – a 20- 25 minute drive away.

Retail Therapy

  • best souvenirs at the Creative arts & crafts market only on Saturdays
  • Vesta Design Store
  • best chocolates – for premium local chocolates head to Patagonia Chocolates at it’s various locations, our other favourite brand of New Zealand chocolates is Whittaker’s (available at all local supermarkets)
  • best sporting brands from/made in/designed in New Zealand :
